Sun path simulator

This page calculates the position of the sun (elevation, azimuth) for any day, as well as sunrise and sunset time, expressed in True Solar Time. By pointing the mouse on the curve, the azimuth and elevation are displayed under the curves.

  1. Enter latitude, longitude, and two dates (day/month/year), then click "Calculate." Values are calculated for the first date.

  2. Two graphs are determined for both dates. They give, depending on the time, the elevation of the sun in an orthonormed coordinate system, and the azimut in a polar coordinate system.

  3. By passing the mouse over the graphs, the values are displayed.
